Daycare

would be a much harder thing if Henry wasn't so excited to be there every day. Either he is truly oblivious to anything but goofing off and having a good time, or he really trusts me that one of us will come back for him later on. I'd be fine if it were the first, really proud if it were the latter.

As soon as we get there, it's all I can do to get him to let me take his jacket off before he's off playing and hugging his teachers.

Compare this to the little girl who, every time I see her, is crying for her Mommy. For weeks now. That must be really tough.

The last 48 hours have not been pretty

Henry has croup. No one is sleeping. He is finally breathing better after three moisture inducing apparati and a prescription for steroids. Freaking steroids, people!

Roid Rage

Sweet talker betty crocker

My favorite things Henry says right now:

Thank you (tee too)
Stop it (as in Deuce, stop it)
Casbah (as in rock the)
So big

The majority of his vocabulary consists of food items. He calls animals by the sounds they make. For fish, he puckers his lips (as learned from constantly reading the fish book Donna gave him).If we point to almost anything in his books and ask what it is, he answers and most of the time, he is right. He also loves to pick up any book, magazine or piece of mail and "read" it aloud. Cookie and Daddy are his favorite words at the moment and two separate occasions, he repeated I love you after I said it to him.

I'm loving this part.

Rock On

Henry in his favorite rocking chair.

Star Star

He calls all of them "star", but can you blame the boy for wanting to avoid saying "rec-tan-gal"?

Big Boy Haircut

Well, we took Henry for his first haircut.

I think we were thinking it would be more of a "trim" than what she ultimately ended up doing, but the good news is, he's got plenty of time to grow it back.

Just a trim. Still long and flowing.

To All the Amy's I've Loved Before

I am fortunate to have such wonderful group of girlfriends. Seriously. And please don't try to say to yourself, so do I, because compared to mine, you don't. I can't believe how many funny, interesting (and hot!) ladies I know. Some I have known since I was eleven, many have made me laugh until my stomach hurt, most are named Amy, and all celebrated Henry's birth.
As I walk the lonely streets of this friendless mountain town, especially on Wednesdays (because Wednesday after all, is my favorite street walking day), my thoughts always go to the group I recently left behind in Austin.

Amy Torres
- Hilarious on the outside, tender on the inside.
Amy Grafe- Thanks for keeping Henry off the streets and away from drugs.
Amy Becker- I can't comment until I know for sure if camel toe is one or two words.
Amy Smith- Thanks for writing the song, "Baby Borracho" for my unborn child.
Amy my favorite Brodie Ln. HEB checker
- Always called Henry Little Dude. Never judged my alcohol purchases.
Amy Dreiss- My boo. Everytime I watch the movie, Beaches, I will think of you. Unless that is the one where one of them dies. If so, change that to, Talladega Nights, since the sangria was soooooo good at the AH that night.

Amys and non Amys alike- I feel so totally lucky and thankful to know all of you ladies. I look forward to keeping up with all of the babies, the dating stories, the Ladies Weekends in the Woods (beach, slopes, wherever). I will never forget your "missionary" education, your best mattress spreadsheets, your mommy stories and advice, your New Orleans bachelorette parties, your Mexican weddings, and all of the chocolate cake.

xoxo
